TDEE Calculator
Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) is an estimation of how many calories you burn per day when exercise is taken into account.
It is calculated by first determining your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), then multiplying that value by an activity multiplier.
BMR Formulas Used:
Mifflin-St Jeor Formula:
- Men: BMR = (10 × W) + (6.25 × H) – (5 × A) + 5
- Women: BMR = (10 × W) + (6.25 × H) – (5 × A) – 161
Revised Harris-Benedict Formula:
- Men: BMR = 88.362 + (13.397 × W) + (4.799 × H) – (5.677 × A)
- Women: BMR = 447.593 + (9.247 × W) + (3.098 × H) – (4.330 × A)
Where W = weight in kg, H = height in cm, A = age in years.
Activity Multipliers:
- Sedentary: Little or no exercise (BMR × 1.2)
- Lightly Active: Light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week (BMR × 1.375)
- Moderately Active: Moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week (BMR × 1.55)
- Very Active: Hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week (BMR × 1.725)
- Extra Active: Very hard exercise/sports & physical job (BMR × 1.9)
Your TDEE is a crucial number for setting weight management goals (loss, maintenance, or gain).
