Inverse Variation Calculator
Understanding Inverse Variation
Inverse variation describes a relationship where as one variable increases, the other decreases proportionally. The product of the two variables is always a constant value, 'k'.
The formula for inverse variation is:
\[ y = \frac{k}{x} \quad \text{or} \quad xy = k \]
How to Use the Calculator:
- Enter any two of the three values (Constant k, x, or y).
- Leave the field you want to find blank.
- Click "Calculate and Graph". The calculator will solve for the missing value and plot the relationship.
Solves \(y = k/x\). Enter any two values to find the third.
