How to Graph Inequalities
This tool visualizes linear and compound inequalities on a number line.
Symbols and Circles
- \( > \) (greater than) and \( < \) (less than) use an open circle to show the number is not included.
- \( \ge \) (greater than or equal to) and \( \le \) (less than or equal to) use a closed circle to show the number is included.
Compound Inequalities
And: The solution is the overlap (intersection) between the two inequalities. Example: \( -2 < x \le 5 \).
Or: The solution includes all values from both inequalities. Example: \( x < -1 \) or \( x \ge 3 \).
