The Body Adiposity Index (BAI) is a method of estimating body fat percentage in adult humans. Unlike Body Mass Index (BMI), BAI is calculated without using body weight.
BAI Formula:
- BAI = [Hip Circumference (cm) / (Height (m)1.5)] – 18
How to measure:
- Height: Measure your height without shoes.
- Hip Circumference: Measure around the widest part of your hips/buttocks.
BAI provides an alternative to BMI and may correlate better with body fat percentage in some populations. However, like any estimation method, it has limitations.
