Wilks Score Calculator
The Wilks Score is a coefficient system used in powerlifting to compare the strength of lifters across different body weight categories. It answers the question: "Who is the stronger lifter, relative to their body weight?"
A higher Wilks score indicates a greater relative strength.
Formula:The score is calculated by multiplying the total weight lifted (sum of squat, bench press, and deadlift) by a coefficient. This coefficient is determined by the lifter's body weight and gender, using a complex polynomial formula.
Note: While widely used for many years, the Wilks formula has been succeeded by other systems like IPF GL points in some federations. However, it remains a popular and respected measure of relative strength.
