Elimination Method Calculator
How the Elimination Method Works
The elimination method is used to solve a system of linear equations by eliminating one of the variables.
- Multiply: Multiply one or both equations by constants so that the coefficients of one variable are opposites (e.g., 3x and -3x).
- Add: Add the two new equations together. This will eliminate one variable.
- Solve: Solve the resulting equation for the remaining variable.
- Substitute: Substitute this value back into one of the original equations to find the other variable.
Solves a system of two linear equations step-by-step.
