CPR Compression Rate Metronome
This tool is designed to help you practice maintaining the correct rate for chest compressions during CPR training.
1. Select the Rate:Use the slider to choose a rate between 100 and 120 beats per minute (BPM). This is the compression rate recommended by the American Heart Association for adults, children, and infants. [1]
2. Start the Metronome:Click the "Start" button. The metronome will provide a clear audio beep and a visual pulse at the selected rate.
3. Time Your Compressions:Use the sound and visual cue to guide the timing of your chest compressions. Each "beat" represents one compression. For high-quality CPR, push hard and fast, and allow for full chest recoil between compressions. [2]

This is a timing aid for training purposes ONLY. It does not teach CPR. Proper training and certification from a recognized organization are essential before attempting to perform CPR. In a real emergency, call for emergency medical services immediately and follow the instructions of trained professionals.
