How to take measurements:
- Use a flexible measuring tape (like one used for sewing).
- Ensure the tape is snug but not compressing the skin.
- Take measurements in front of a mirror or have someone assist you for accuracy.
- Neck: Measure below the larynx (Adam’s apple), sloping slightly downward to the front.
- Waist:
- Men: Measure horizontally at the level of the navel.
- Women: Measure horizontally at the narrowest point (natural waist).
- Hip (Women Only): Measure horizontally at the largest circumference around the hips/buttocks.
- Enter all measurements in the same unit (cm or inches).
Body Fat Categories (General Guidelines):
- Essential Fat: Men 2-5%, Women 10-13%
- Athletes: Men 6-13%, Women 14-20%
- Fitness: Men 14-17%, Women 21-24%
- Acceptable: Men 18-24%, Women 25-31%
- Obesity: Men 25%+, Women 32%+
