About the S.T.A.R.T. Method
S.T.A.R.T. (Simple Triage and Rapid Treatment) is a system used by first responders to quickly sort patients into priority categories during a mass casualty incident. The goal is to do the greatest good for the greatest number of people.
The Four Triage Categories:- MINOR (Green): "Walking wounded." Have minor injuries and can wait for treatment.
- DELAYED (Yellow): Serious injuries but not immediately life-threatening. Treatment can be delayed.
- IMMEDIATE (Red): Life-threatening injuries that require immediate attention.
- DECEASED (Black): No signs of life.
