Understanding the Sinclair Score
The Sinclair Score is a system used in Olympic Weightlifting to compare the performance of lifters in different bodyweight classes. It allows for a fair comparison of the relative strength of a 70kg lifter versus a 100kg lifter, for example.
A higher Sinclair score indicates a better lift, pound-for-pound.
Formula:Score = Total Lifted * Sinclair Coefficient
The coefficient is calculated using the formula: 10A * (log10(x/b))2, where 'x' is the lifter's bodyweight, and 'A' and 'b' are coefficients that are updated every Olympic year based on world records.
Compare your total against other weightlifters.
