About Hyperbolic Functions
Hyperbolic functions are analogs of the ordinary trigonometric functions, but defined using the hyperbola rather than the circle.
Hyperbolic Sine (sinh): \(\sinh(x) = \frac{e^x - e^{-x}}{2}\)
Hyperbolic Cosine (cosh): \(\cosh(x) = \frac{e^x + e^{-x}}{2}\)
Hyperbolic Tangent (tanh): \(\tanh(x) = \frac{\sinh(x)}{\cosh(x)}\)
Hyperbolic Cosecant (csch): \(\text{csch}(x) = \frac{1}{\sinh(x)}\)
Hyperbolic Secant (sech): \(\text{sech}(x) = \frac{1}{\cosh(x)}\)
Hyperbolic Cotangent (coth): \(\text{coth}(x) = \frac{1}{\tanh(x)}\)
Calculates sinh(x), cosh(x), tanh(x), and their reciprocals.
