First Aid Splinting Assistant
About Splinting
A splint is a device used to immobilize an injured body part, typically a suspected fracture or severe sprain. The primary goal of splinting is to prevent further injury, reduce pain, and minimize swelling by keeping the injured area from moving.
Key Goal:Immobilize the joints above and below the suspected injury. This simple rule is the most important principle of effective splinting.
