Partial Products Calculator
What are Partial Products?
Partial products is a method of multiplication that breaks numbers down into their place values (e.g., hundreds, tens, ones) before multiplying.
For example, to multiply 24 x 13:
- Break down each number: 24 becomes (20 + 4), and 13 becomes (10 + 3).
- Multiply each part of the first number by each part of the second number:
- 20 x 10 = 200
- 20 x 3 = 60
- 4 x 10 = 40
- 4 x 3 = 12
- Add all the partial products together: 200 + 60 + 40 + 12 = 312.
